Chen Yuxun once again directed the sixth feature film "Da Meng" after "The Lost Valentine" in 2020. He collaborated with producers Ye Rufen and Li Lie for the fourth time. Fang Yuting, Hong Kong's new generation actor Ke Weilin, and Golden Melody Musician 9m88 starred in the new combination. The audience returned to the turbulent Taiwan in the 1950s and felt the courage and emotions of the little people fighting for survival in the torrent of the times.

The heroine A Yue received the news that her brother was shot and killed. She resolutely went north from Chiayi to find her sister A Xia and go to identify the body together. By chance, she met the tricycle driver Zhao Gongdao and developed a bond that transcended blood. Chen Yuxun said that he had read a lot of articles about the White Terror period over the years, and many moving real events had shaken him, but there were only a handful of related movies. He asked himself: "Are people unfamiliar with it or are they unwilling to mention it again?"

The film started shooting in early December 2023, with locations in Tainan and Chiayi. It also spent NT$60 million at the Yanshui "An Nei Film and Television Base" to build early Taiwanese rural buildings, Jinshan Street, market, Fuma Linchi and other important scenes, and reproduce the bustling and prosperous Taipei Rongcheng business district.
