SYNOPSIS:

Filmed in a science fiction inspired style, To Pluto tells Huan's story, a nurse who finds herself stuck in her current job and a dying long-distance relationship meets a cancer patient who is trying to find the family he abandoned before it is too late. An undelivered letter brings the two together and provides an unexpected solution to their problems. The film uses two astronomical events, the exclusion of Pluto from the planetary system and the completion of the space probe New Horizon, as a metaphor for the inner transformation of both characters.

醫院夜班護士方寰與生老病死常年為伍，不滿現狀卻無力改變，依賴著一段早已結束的遠距關係；住院病患張先生年輕時離家棄子，因死亡靠近而思索起人生往事及孤獨的意義。兩人看似無關的生活軌道因一封信產生了交集，意外下獲得重新探尋和面對自我的機會。

本片借用兩個與冥王星相關的天文事件作為隱喻，描述台灣女性在社會關係和自我中難以平衡的困境，以及每個人生命中都可能出現的轉捩時刻：有時變故與失去的目的，只是為了促成新生開始。或許生命中的遺憾都是早已註定好的，而一切都循著一套更龐大的系統在運行。
